Eset internet secuirty is a new member to our list this year. Eset Smart Security 4 like F-Secure, Kaspersky and McAfee is an all in one security suite.
Eset Smart Security 4 comes with anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall protection. Eset is one of the best software suites for overall performance and protection.

Performance
Eset did an excellent job at identifying and removing viruses, malware, and spyware. Eset found 95% of the viruse and was able to remove them without any interaction from us. The overall scan speed was impressive in that it was able to scan our computer in just over an hour.
The spyware and malware protection was excellent as it found 92% of the spyware. The scan times were excellent and very light on system resources.
Ease of use
The interface for Eset Smart Security 4 was hit and miss. The main screen was well organized and east to use. The advanced options were more complicated and not user friendly. Looking for software that installs the optimal security setting Eset it an excellent choice.
Firewall
Eset Smart Security 5 comes with a two way firewall that was one of the best we tested. The firewall is designed to scan both incoming and outgoing traffic and deny all hackers attempts to find open ports. The firewall is also designed to lean our internet patterns to assure an optimal internet experience.
Anti-virus
Eset anti-virus engine was excellent and rivaled F-Secure and Kaspersky. It did an excellent job and detecting and removing viruses. The scans were fast and only caused a slight decrease in overall system performance. Eset has active scanning to assure continuous scaning.
Anti-Spyware & Anti-Malware
Eset anti-spyware and anti-malware engine was excellent in our testing. The scan times were exceptional and overall system performance stayed at a high level.
Help/Support
Eset like all other internet security software vendors offers free technical support. They do require a case first before contacting them. They do offer an extensive online library to help with technical issues or answer any question.
Spam/Email Scanning
Eset Smart Security 4 does scan all incoming and outgoing email messages looking for spyware and malware. When a virus or malware is detected the threat is removed before getting into or leaving your computer.
The spam filtering was also very good. It was able to detect and move 90% of the spam and place it in the spam folder.
Internet Safety Features
Eset Smart Security offers some the best Internet Safety features. It comes with two programs called sysInspector and SysRescue that are both designed to keep computers running smoothly. The sysInspector continuously monitors computers looking for changes or damaged files. SysRescue creates a system rescue disc.
Eset also requires you to ena password before the antivirus software can be installed. Certain types of spyware and malware are designed to remove your antivirus and install a fake antivirus to cost you $50.
Eset by default comes with USB and removable device scanning. All devices plugged into computers are scanned for viruses, malware and spyware before the device can be opened.
Eset Smart Security 4 is one of the best Internet Security Suites on the market today. They offer both excellent anti-virus and anti-spyware protection and light on system resources. Eset also offers a selection of extras to keep computers running secure as possible.
