Internet Safety Center has awarded Firefox as the best browser on the internet. Firefox is free and can be downloaded at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html?from=getfirefox. Firefox is an open source browser that has the same features as Internet Explorer but is faster and more reliable. Internet Safety Center recommends all internet users should use or try Firefox. To get you started with Firefox Internet Safety Center has created a quick reference guide on how to setup homepage, import bookmarks, cookies, passwords, and other features.

How to set your home page
Firefox should import your home page setting from Internet Explorer automatically, but if it doesn't here is how to setup your home page. From the top menu bar select Tools and go down to Options. Just below Setup you will see Home Page. Remove all the text in the box and type in the website address you want as your home page. When finished hit OK.


Import you Internet Explorer favorites
To import all your Internet Explorer favorites select File and go down to Import. Select everything you want to import and then hit next. Firefox will now import all the data.


How to see your Internet Browsing History
If you would like to know all the internet sites you or someone else has been to simple hold down the control key (ctrl) and hit the letter “t”. You will then see on the left hand side the browsing history for the last week or two.

Clear your private data
All internet users need to periodically need to clear the browser saved passwords, cookies, history, etc. To clear all your private information go to Tools -> Clear Private Data. Internet Safety Center recommends checking all boxes and then hot Clear Private Data Now. We recommend doing this every month.
