Twitter Phishing Attack
The majority of Twitters users about the latest phishing attack againist the social networking site. When the site was attacked by the phishing attack it forced them to reset thousand of passwords. The attackers had spent a lot of time creating torrent sites designed specifically for this attack. The sites were designed to look exactly like other sites tricking the user to think the site was safe. However the sites were designed to obtain username and passwords along with installing software like malware and spyware on computers. This information than allowed them to hack into other Twitter accounts or committe internet fraud.
The Twitter experts recommend that users shouldn't not user the same email account for everysite you sign up for or newsletter you get.
Detecting Spyware and Malware
Several security experts over the last couple of weeks took the latest spyware and internet scanners and put them to the test. They took the software and the used them all over the internet determining how well they detected threat or missed threats. The testing revealed that the majority of them had 50% false positives or missed the threat all togethor. This just shows that detecing viruses and spyware is getting harders as the hackers create more advanced software.
